This happens here on the coast of Queensland.....although now for safety reasons the coconuts are removed or bagged or the trees fenced off & we have many coconut trees. I so like the way this discarded coconut is sprouting new growth ..
Nice find and looks like there's another in the background. I've tried to get them to strike for me but haven't had any luck so far. Apparently if you crack it open when it has just shot, the centre has turned solid and is quite delicious.
