It's almost 1am and I'm exhausted. It's been the most surreal day ever. Here's what just wrote on FB:
Wow... my head feels like it's going to explode!! I can't believe it ended this way. I really thought the other lady was going to take it. Saying THANK YOU feels so very inadequate at this moment. As I said in my earlier post, my perspective shifted this afternoon and I was fine with any outcome. This experience as been so much more than a contest... I connected with old friends and made some new ones. It's been a roller coaster of a day with so many ups and downs. There's been whales, bus passes, leaky ceilings, baseball, and more community spirit than I could ever imagine. The CR Rant & Rave page blew my mind!! My beloved home town of Ladysmith was right there for me and so were all my 365 photo friends from around the world that I've never even met! Ron's company guys and construction contacts played a huge role. So did my family - from Prince George to Australia! Thank you to all my friends, if it wasn't for you sharing and tagging this never would have happened. I do not know 1738 people! It was the ripple effect of kind strangers that made this possible and I sincerely thank you! Now we wait... contest winners will be officially announced at the end of May/beginning of June on Windstar's FB page. Public votes was 1 of 4 judging criteria. I feel like I've met them all so hopefully it's just a formality!
Final tally
1st: 1738 votes - Me
2nd: 1702 votes - a lady from New Orleans
3rd: 176 votes
Congratulations on winning the popular vote - such a difference in voting numbers for the first two compared with the person who came third - and amazing shot of a whale
Congratulations on your victory! I am sorry that I missed your completion as I would have certainly voted for you.
I am also glad to hear that Gage is back playing baseball. I wasn't sure if his recent health issues would jeopardize his, [For] Love of the Game.
Super congrats, Kim!!!! We all win with you as we'll get to enjoy the photos you take on the cruise you've won. And your Orca shot here, another winner. :)
