I forgot I had taken this shot a couple of days ago and found it today. Because of the tides, cruise ships usually travel in groups. Often 3 go by in a row. This night just two were heading south on their way back got Vancouver.
Would you call your stretch of water the North Wes Passage Kim? I have noticed on holiday itineraries that as cruise ships travel towards Alaska from Canada & I just wondered if these were the ships sailing up that way past you? Just thing it would be funny if ever we took a trip like that & sailed past your back door!
@happypat I think cruise ship itineraries refer to our area as the "INSIDE PASSAGE" because the ships travel between the mainland and Vancouver Island. Some ships do travel on the outside of Vancouver Island in the Pacific Ocean though. I think those boats leave from Seattle as opposed to Vancouver. I would prefer the inside version as there would be more to see and less swells to make you sea sick. Our area is much more protected!
@kwind The Inside Passage sounds preferable to me too Kim.....won’t be as choppy & it makes sense. Must remember that if we ever do the promised trip to Canada....I doubt I would get Harry on a cruise ship though, railway yes but no sea cruises! Beautiful ships! Always something to see from your place!
