We defrosted some frozen salmon for dinner but soon realized that it was kind of old and frost bitten so we decided to give it to the seagulls instead. They swooped down so fast that I missed the birds with the fish pieces. These fellows showed up a bit late for the party!!
I was driving along the coastal highway in California once and pulled into a rest stop to eat my lunch before continuing my journey. There was a couple nearby who decide to share some of their sandwich with the seagulls- not a good decision! They ended up running for their car the birds were coming in so fast. I like the ones you caught in flight.
Still a great shot!
I remember once being in Galveston and having my daughter's sandwich ready. She was playing in the sand a couple of yards away, so I called her and held up the sandwich, but before she could get up a seagull had taken it... They can be really fast and always seem to be hungry!
@ingrid01 I had the same experience on the Isles of Scilly - a hungry gull swooped it when I had just rested it next to me on a bench for a second. Greedy little thieves!!
I love the storytelling here! @taffy and I were talking today and she told me about this photo -- your narrative reminds me of my squirrel and bread photo!

Great busy picture here.
