The TGV that is, leaving Perpignan station. I was waiting for the train to Barcelona, going in the opposite direction. I put some thought into capturing the movement of the train, difficult on a very sunny day and with a lens that only stops down to f8.0. Looking at the photo now, I think I should have also knelt down to get to the same level as the child's eyes.
@regularguy On the regular lines for local trains yes, so you have to get off and change at Port Bou or Cerbere. But the tracks for the high speed trains are consistent. So the TGV in the photo is French, going from Barcelona to Paris, but the train I was waiting for was a Spanish AVE, going from Marseilles to Madrid.
I remember in the 1980s riding an overnight train from Madrid to Paris. The train stopped at the border. The whole train was lifted from the tracks and fitted with different trucks. It was a memorable experience. I remember looking out the window and watching the workers. Can people still have this same experience?
