The work here has just finished. It is part of the EuroVélo 8 cycle route, one of about 17 long distance cycling pathways that are being built across Europe. I was told this one connects Athens to Barcelona, but in fact it is longer, starting at Cadiz on the Atlantic coast of Spain and going beyond Athens to Turkey and Cyprus. So now I can leave the house and walk Jasper to Athens, Cadiz, Barcelona, Nice, Granada, Torino, Venice, or Dubrovnik. Or I could buy a tandem and we could cycle it.
I didn't mind these people staring at me. I had been staring at them quite hard. I thought that animal they were walking was a goat. Don't laugh, there are people hereabouts who do that !
