Trying to be "healthy" I opted for this 90% cocoa chocolate which should have less sugar, more antioxidants, etc. but YUCK! it was not at all what I was expecting and the moment I took a bite I yelled out in surprise at the awful bitter taste and quickly spit it in the garbage. Too bad. I was really hoping I would like it. Now there is an "unhealthy" Twix bar in my kitchen instead.
Another random chocolate fact: I like chocolate best when it is cold from the fridge. Sometimes I even like to put it in the freezer. Rarely will I have it room temperature...
There are some things that you just can't do "healthy". However, here are some "healthy"" chocolates that I like, I am able to get them at my local grocer sometimes... http://chocolatebar.com/http://www.equalexchange.coop/chocolate-bars I agree with cold chocolate - and I like this photo ;)
@mngirl oooh those look good :) will keep my eyes peeled for similar products. i think those would be okay as they are 55-65% cocoa which i think would be much better!
ooohhhh yuck!!! hahaha, i know that taste of bitterness!! ick!! you would be better off trying to eat that healthy fish you dont like!!! hahahaha. Way to try and be healthy, but i hope you find something better tasting for your taste buds!! kewl shot btw :)
@kdimagery hahaha laughing at your fish comment! actually i think you might be right, I think I'd rather eat one of those giant fishes than another piece of this!
That's my chocolate! I have a couple of squares of that one quite often. I am diabetic so at first I sought out 100% cocoa products which were a real trial to eat. After those the 90% one tastes like heaven in a slab.
Yum! I have some 85% cocoa choc each day as my morning treat. You have to gradually build up to it though, as it is very bitter. Start with 50% cocoa and gradually increase the cocoa content.
This is the stuff we eat in Europe, please post it to me!! When I was in the states the chocolate tasted to me too oily and milky, must be difference in preference.
I usually get the 75% dark chocolate and its not as bitter. Being a Vegan, and lactose intolerant, I can no longer indulge in milk chocolate. Its also an acquired taste in getting used to good dark chocolate. Nice shot!
i don't mind dark chocolate. and i'd take this over fish aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnyday!
:P
