Spotted these colourful bee hives quite close to the side of the road today.... so of course I had to turn around to go back & photograph them :)

When I first saw these in NZ I was quite surprised - in the UK I've never seen anything except stately plain white ones. Do bees see colour or is it for the humans? :-)

What an interesting picture! I have seen bee hives a few times, but never seen them in colours like this! Such a beautiful backdrop too.
