Waited one day to long for our visit to the canyon because of the government shutdown the scenic loop was closed and guarded by a police car. I did have Bob pull over a few times to get some roadside pictures. Made sure I included the barbed wire to remind me CLOSED......

@pamknowler they are funded by the government and deemed non essential . Even though some of the individual states have offered to pay to keep them open they were told no.
Such a beautiful photo, Leslie. Sorry you were not able to go in this time. Planned a day trip to San Francisco and the entire Presidio is closed, parking lots and restrooms are not accessible. Just wanted to see what I have not seen in years and take some photos but not going to happen. So many out of work and so many told to leave their vacation destinations.
