Went to put the kayak in the lake and stopped middle step. Put the kayak down got the camera out and slowly tried to get a little closer without spooking him ( back view). Couldn't believe my luck when I put the kayak in the lake only about 20 feet from him and he didn't leave. I was able to slowly make my way around and get some front views from the kayak. Guess he knew I wasn't a threat because I paddled away before he did.
How beautiful, Leslie!! I would never have guessed they were the same bird. Fabulous colors. I know you are thrilled to get such a great shot of him. Maybe he will get used to you and your kayak.
