A walk along the shore at the Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve at Montrose today. Large numbers of fledglings in the trees (Woodpecker, Willow Warbler, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Chaffinch, Greenfinch amongst others) but very little sign of young birds on the water.
lovely shot of that woodpecker - I assume greater spotted woodpecker as the lesser is so much rarer? (we have both locally but I mostly hear them, rarely see them).
