When I left the area in 1980 I don’t think this fantastic piece of engineering was even a twinkle in anyone’s eye. The Falkirk Wheel boat lift is quite magnificent with the barge leaving the just having been lowered from the Union Canal and heading to the Forth and Clyde Canal
isn't it amazing - we stayed in Stirling SYHA to go and see this one November, to find that it was cleaning time, and shut for the month, so I haven't seen it in operation. Have you seen the Selkies yet?
