Steaming Past

Smyril Line's ferry Norrona which travels between Faroe, Denmark, Faroe and Iceland steaming past Sumburgh Head this evening. I was down having a look as this was her first trip since being extended in size. About 50 new cabins added. She used to come into Shetland and then on to Bergen but sadly no longer does that so we have to fly to Bergen now if we want to pay a visit. Notice that the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter were also in for a look and got a lot closer than I did.
I have been countless trips with this ferry, to all destinations when Bergen and Lerwick was on the schedule. I visited Shetland four times, and would love to come for a visit again.

@okvalle We first sailed on the "old" Norrona in 1998 when it first came into Lewick. Went on the two Norrona's to Bergen each year up until 2006 when it stopped coming in during the summer months. Really enjoyed the trips over to Bergen - the atmosphere on board was always very good.
