Coming home Sunday, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky in West Texas. I can’t count the number of times I’ve topped this rise and seen this exact scene. West Texas cotton farmers are fighting drought conditions, they desperately need rain. For my half and half today.
WowLou Ann, I knew your roads would be quiet & open but this must be fabulous motoring, you would have a job to stay awake if you were short of sleep! Farmers will be worried…hope it rains soon. Is this what we call a dual highway….not much traffic to warrant one I would have thought!

@happypat it was 9:00 AM on Mother’s Day. We were amazed that really no big trucks or cars were on the road for two or three hours. We could only surmise everyone was home celebrating their mothers and wives. It turned out to be a stress free drive for Jerry and one hour shorter than usual too. He said today he didn’t feel like he always does when we come home from Lubbock. It’s usually at least a six hour trip, so nice to get home an hour earlier.
That's my kind of road- wide open and heading towards an endless horizon. I'm glad the roads were moving in your favor- all the more pleasant to drive that way. Happy Mother's Day to you as well!
