A Fifth Avenue Place

A little street photography, downtown Pittsburgh.

Not sure this quite works, but I really liked the concept. Trying to contrast the 3 women focused on their phones with the older man engaged with the kids. All sorts of deep philosophical meaning....

Except I kinda think it fails. Oh well. Digital is free.

I'm not so sure I would have picked that up, as I can not see the man interacting and would not assume he was with the kids. But I see it with your explanation. Still, a point well made, and I have started switching the data off on my phone when I am outdoors, so as to avoid the temptation to continually look.

@helenhall Thanks Helen! I think there's just too much "space" here. It is almost like 2 independent vignettes.

I like your idea. I think the line of the building works well too to divide the two sides of the shot. I think the same as Helen Jane - if the man was more engaged with the kids it might come together. It looks almost like they are with one of the women and just running rings round him cos she's distracted!

@clearday Thanks! Yep, clearly it didn't quite work. Circumstance worked against me, this time. It was a fleeting moment seen from a car in traffic. And not QUITE captured well.

I appreciate your thoughts!

@lsquared Very impressed it was taken from the car though - if you'd had a chance to get a few, it probably would have worked
