Water Inlets, Mississippi River by lsquared

Water Inlets, Mississippi River

Chain Of Rocks, looking downstream. This is about 5 miles downstream of the confluence with the Missouri River.
How unusual this is. What were these buildings used for?

@tinley23 These are intakes for the water treatment facility for St. Louis, MO. Water is collected midstream, and piped to the plant on the far shore. The near intake was built in 1911, the far one 1894. I believe they are still in operation.

How cool. The intake towers at Hoover Dam are so boring compared to these.
