Not a happy bird and all puffed up

while watching his home being destroyed! He became quite vocal and looked rather depressed. I went to the dam every day to see what was going on.

Fortunately when they saw some nests, they left them there for the time being. I wonder what I will find this afternoon.

@wakelys @grammyn @haskar It is indeed very sad to see. I took some pics of the last one sitting close to the nest and felt like crying. They are all gone now!

I hope they are at one of the other dams that were cleared last autumn. The only ones surviving this are the coots and their chicks, as they can move around.

I have not had time to look or edit any, it will have to wait til the family is gone next week ;-)
