First Jonquil by maggiemae

First Jonquil

A calendar note for this early flower. Its is really the middle of winter but we have had so many fine and sunny days, it thinks it must be spring. It sits at the foot of our large kowhai tree which is in the centre of the lawn.
beautiful, not sure why but this photo gave me the get up and ut the door with the camera shove I needed.

It is always so exciting to see that first flower. I saw one of these for my first flower of the spring back as spring started here.

Here was my take on "first flower of the season" this spring...I noticed a tiny bug on it when I got it on my computer, so I featured him as the star of the photo! http://365project.org/espyetta/album-2/2012-02-06

They are so pretty! You must have fairly mild temperatures in winter compared to ours. It was another hot summer day today.

@maggiemae We had a very warm winter...and had a very warm early spring...we thought we were doomed. But then it was a coolish May and June. So that is nice.
