American Chain by maggiemae

American Chain

A bracelet of mine which has all the States in America that I visited in 1966. One fell off unfortunately - I'll have to work out which state fell off!
Beautiful!

January 12th, 2013
@maggiemae Well, since you got to Vermont and Canada you got to experiences places similar to Maine!
January 12th, 2013
@brillomick I went to Cleveland and Columbus on the Greyhound bus which then, was quite ordinary and safe - it was a 99 days for $99 ticket!

Oh, how nice. I saw a similar bracelet uploaded by another member of this project. @swguevin - Oh, she is Sheila, and I see she already wrote to you.
January 12th, 2013
@swguevin Love to see your shot, Sheila - which album is it on?
January 12th, 2013
So great. I bet it was a great trip. Did you keep a journal like your mother??? Back in 1966, maybe I passed you on the street somewhere in California ; )
January 12th, 2013
@yonnie Yes, I did, Yvonne. I went through California from SF to LA on 19th June, 1966. Also to Santa Barbara and San Diego.

What a beautiful keepsake!
January 12th, 2013
Well, looking at the states that are there, it's possible you could have been in New Mexico because its in between California and Arizona, or you may have stopped at one of the southern states like Georgia as you traveled from Texas to Florida. At any rate, it's a great little trinket!
January 12th, 2013
Gosh you certainly did some travelling, what a lovely reminder of the places you visited
January 12th, 2013
Beautiful places you've been to. nice shot!

January 12th, 2013

@maggiemae I can understand the loneliness In 72/73 I spent 6 months in the USA. Many things I found amazing but had no-one to share my excitement with. Another Army posting, wife and family in Australia.
