Here we are performing at another wedding! This time on a farm a long way from the town. It was a wedding of a mature couple who had decided to wed after many years of living as partners. They had numerous good acts performing but we were the most popular!
The wedding feast was a hangi - cooked in the ground outside and in sacking and leaves - kumera, potato, carrot, cabbage - all having a lovely smoky flavour! The meat, wallaby, venison, chicken, pork was cooked in pizza oven outside. Lots of jamming into the night!
I wish I played ukelele and could join a band and perform at great gigs! You look like you're having so much fun. I'm thinking you're the one sitting next to the guy playing something tall and you have on a yellow scarf.
Very interesting. I love the ukelele. We have a ukelele group coming to perform at our locall arts center next month. Can't wait to see and hear them. I'd never heard of a uke chorus until we heard about this one awhile back.
How superb Maggie Mae, I love the sound of the ukulele- wish I could play some thing like that . What fun you must have going around performing in your band - A LOVELY GROUP PHOTO
The food sounds amazing - I have had a hangi and it really does take different to a standard barbeque. What a great shot of everyone on the veranda. Sounds like a good time by all.
I can see you maggiemae...you are getting a famous profile!!!!! Love the sound of the wedding ..... beautifully relaxed & a real rave up into the night...well done for being such a hit!!
I think I see you there and will have to jump over to your other album because I truly enjoy hearing your group! What a great place to play- and the food sounds fantastic!
