Beachside Restaurant by maggiemae

Beachside Restaurant

This was the restaurant where the local Lions' group met for their dinner and meeting. It was Ladies night so I was welcome with my camera. This is outside on the verandah which overlooks the beautiful Moeraki Beach with its long stretch of white sand and wonderful Moeraki Boulders.

Three good things:
1/-Television One was able to drive out of Dunedin and up here to film the passing over of a cheque raised by the Lions to the Neurological Foundation. They raised $5000 this year.
2/- The moon came up again over the sea (strange that!) and was a picturesque sight all the way home but it was too cold to stop for photos.
3/- Managed to move a huge scotch chest from one place in the house so our new cabinet will fit. Result: one sore back!
Very nice Restaurant Maggiemae

@yonnie It is in the daytime - I feel so lucky to be able to do this! At night, you can't see outside but you can hear the waves rolling in!

@espyetta It gets down to 3degC (37.4F) at nights, MaryBeth! There was a roaring open fire here in the restaurant!

I hope you had an enjoyable evening.
May 30th, 2013
@pachelbel Thank you Veronica - apart from the intense noise of everyone talking at once, I did - the best part was walking outside and listening to the lovely sound of the waves!

I love restaurants with an outside area to sit like this. You just have to hope for reasonable weather in the UK...hence there aren't many such restaurants over here! xx
May 30th, 2013
That looks a really welcoming place to stop and eat.... I agree with Lisa about outside seating in the UK!!
May 30th, 2013
What a beautiful view of the restaurant. Reminds me of beach restaurants in South Africa. Hope your back is better. X

So sorry, I'm behind with everyones photographs. Lovely light on this, it makes it feel so welcoming. We went to Moeraki beach but it was so grey and chilly, amazing boulders, I've never seen anything like it.

@emmadurnford It often is chilly there, Emma, being on the east coast. A fine day is rare and precious!

@anden thanks Anatoly! I do find I need a tripod more often than not!
June 6th, 2013
@maggiemae Good idea! It is a necessity for night shots. Earlier I took many shots with the tripod but nowadays I became lazy... You won't be...
