Its not really that dark

This is pre ukelele concert in lovely old local reception house. The fire is blazing away there are lights on everywhere- and I used the flash! I had fiddled with the camera settings earlier and something changed. It was "photometry", AF setting, and White Balance. Back to the manual!

Three good things:
1. The concert was for a birthday for a large group of people with disabilities. There was wheelchair dancing and loud clapping, lots of smiling faces.
2. A goup of chaffinchs visited by still can't get a good photo
3. I think the cat was unsettled by the sound of the All Blacks beating France again - her ears were right back!
I love the ukelele! Do you play?

Nice plug for the All blacks!! Sounds a very unusual party, I can see the fire blazing so all cosy & warm. Funny how some photos don't behave!!!

Pictures like this happen to all of us from time to time. However, I do like this photo because the color tones make this look vintage.

It might not have worked out as you wishes but I still like the result, it gives a nice feeling of comoraderie (oh heck - how do you spell that!)

@judithdeacon Why didn't you let predictive text spell it out for you, Judith? I'm glad you let it stay like that!

Low light captures are a constant challenge. Dark and all it is a great atmospheric capture.

Nice shot, Maggiemae. I love the ukelele/music and this sounds like it was a very fun party.

Cool shot!
June 24th, 2013
I think that happens to everyone at least once! Glad the concert went so well.
June 24th, 2013
Neat shot.
June 24th, 2013
I quite like the tones and comp here.
June 24th, 2013
I think in this situation I would set my ISO at auto mode... though I know that the shot would be a little bit noisy... or may be spoiled entirely...
