The last rose of summer by maggiemae

The last rose of summer

It actually is the last rose but its now midwinter here! A different way of looking at it through this magnifying glass! I felt a bit like Sherlock Holmes! I think the rose looks kind of sad!

Three Good Things:
1. It was very warm today - like summer!
2. John pruned our wisteria, the climbing red rose on the trellis and the jasmine by the archway.
3. Oamaru was on TV tonight as a contender to "New Zealand's Sharpest small town! I video'ed the episode and it can be seen in my other album: http://365project.org/maggiemae/jessie-s-nest-e/2013-06-27

Will check out your video, your winter rose is a fighter because your nights will be cold, a great idea looking at the rose through the magnifier, you have highlighted it beautifully!

Fine shot of a white rose on the dark BG. It is mid of summer at our place and it is very hot. For two weeks the sun was shining brightly and there were no a drop of rain...

Love the title and the photo. An interesting way to take a rose. Interesting how you are in winter, others in summer and we are in monsoon.

The contrast of light and dark is great here! Your town got to be a bit famous! That is great!

ah, the magnifying glass. it's been my friend for two weeks now. not so inclined to wear my glasses but i see better with the mag-glass. why i never thought of taking a photograph with it shows i have not an ounce of creativity in me. the rose doesn't look sad, it's just tired maybe. :-)
