Oamaru visitors by maggiemae

Oamaru visitors

Of course, this is a bright red bus but I thought it looked good like this! Over 350 people travelled from Dunedin in the South Island of NZ to Oamaru, my home town by train this morning. The actual trip which is rarely done is very beautiful going over river estuaries, round cliffy coastlines, down past wide beaches and even through a tunnel. Passenger trains no longer travel on these lines regularly. One of our Oamaruvians has a double decker bus which he brings out on occasions to enable people to see around the town.

Three good things:
1. I caught one end of the train only on a side road crossing. The first 10 photos were of the engines!
2. A good cup of coffee and a fruit square out on a sunny terrace.
3. Exciting party night tonight.
I love the happy face on the lady standing next to the door

The train ride sounds wonderful -- love the bus too. This is a good use of black and white. Nice and sharp with plenty of contrast. Plus you've caught the happy mood of the riders!
