Premier bug by maggiemae

Premier bug

Its premier because its my first really small bug! I've done a bee before but nothing as small as this. About the size of a short pin. Here I am on my front street lawn kneeling down with my head in the grass and cars rolling past! Fortunately nobody stopped and asked if I was OK!

Three good things:
1. The grass was cut and dry - - a 'cut and dried" shot eh!
2. Planting our first potatoes - the Red King to start
3. Wearing my hair up and it feels good.
1. Looks like a hover fly
2. Red King is a nice spud
3. Selfie please?

@olivetreeann I think it is a him, Ann! The females seem to have black eyes - probably from being punched by the males with the blinkered eyes!

Ooooh, what a fantastic photo! He looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland! The backlighting makes it..

Love those red eyes so sharp against the green -- good on you for getting down to his level so you could see eye to eye with him.

Love those red eyes! I think we don't care much how we look when we are after a photograph.

Nice clear shot Maggie. I think all the getting down and up for photos must be good exercise!!! The getting up gets more and more difficult!!!

Great short of this small bug! The mental image of you crawling around on all fours to get it was priceless! I'm with @bobfoto on that!

Well, you got a great shot! I used to care about people seeing me in odd positions trying to get a good photo, but now I don't! Some of my best shots were taken that way :D
