We are off to the wilds of NZ where internet is a foreign word so may not be able to access 365. I will have to come to terms with this! Our first destination is a holiday house at the side of a huge forest then next, a motel in the absolute middle of a high pass through the South Island.
Nelson is the next destination followed by a small crib right on the waterside of Queen Charlotte Sound which is the easternmost of the main sounds of the Marlborough Sounds, in New Zealand's South Island. It is, like the other sounds, a drowned valley, and like the majority of its neighbours it runs southwest to northeast before flowing into Cook Strait (separates North Island from the South Island). From there it is at least 8 hours to home so we may stop overnight from there. There have just been some fierce winds in the area and power lines are down! We might have to face no electricity!
Three good things:
1. Only a 2 hour drive to our first cottage in the woods.
2. Hope to pick up some really good marmalade at a well known shop on the way.
3. I'm rearing to go but the cat is furtively looking for hiding places!
Ready to face the wild wild NZ ! Hope you'll manage to rake some shots to present us your country... Looking forward it.
Have a safe journey and enjoy the holidays !
Great colourful capture, and your vacation sounds wonderful. Your descriptions remind me a bit of some of the descriptions of NZ I`ve read in the novels of Ngaio Marsh, whose mysteries I love. Does your cat travel with you?
I did chuckle wondering about the wilds of NZ, made us sound so primitive! Internet may be lacking though. Your food supplies look inviting. Safe travels my friend. Will watch the weather map😺☀️⛅️☔️❄️🌈
What fun to be going off on a trip like that! My husband doesn't want to budge from his house and garden and dogs! Enjoy your holiday to the max and come back with lots of great photos to make us all envious! Bon voyage!
We will miss your posts if you can't get online! Sounds a real adventure maggie....have a fab time & such a photo opportunity! I find every time I get chance to go somewhere I'm all for it just for the photos!!
I must have a look on the map exactly where you are off to!!
The cat knows you are about to pounce on it & whisk it away!!
@angelat Mines a bit like that too...quite happy at home except not so good when you have family 12,000 miles away!! Dogs, garden & house in that order!!!
Have a safe journey and enjoy the holidays !
