High Tea by maggiemae

High Tea

The first table is savouries and includes Pork Pie, Chicken and Pistachio Terrine, Gravlax with Fennel Orange butter, Chicken liver parfait, miniature toasts with pea puree etc.
The second table is the sweets - Victoria Sponge and Raspberry cream, Eszterhazy Nut Meringue Torte, Blackcurrant Trifle, Chocolate Cloud Roll, Miniature Mincemeat Tartlets etc.

Held at a Grand Home used as a Luxury Hotel in Oamaru. The name is Pen-y-Bryn and it was built in the early 1900s

Three Good things:
1. Don't need any evening meal.
2. One of the hosts was an ardent photographer who had two top cameras.
3. Lots of fun all day in Oamaru!
I would go right for the sweets!
