Biking past this scene I had to stop to get a photo of the foal with its different markings. The horses seemed quite peaceful watching me take a photo but when I stepped back on my bike and almost missed the pedal, slightly skidding, they took off, hooves flying!
Three good things;
1. It was a beautiful bike ride in such good weather conditions considering a cyclone is about to hit NZ
2. Battened down the hatches as they say. Batteries - check; milk in fridge- check: candles - check: full bottle of whisky - whoops!
3. I love horses but don't trust them. They bite and kick! Well, me anyway!
What a beautiful shot, Maggiemae. What a great place to take a bike ride. I hope all went well and there was no damage due to the cyclone. You make me laugh as you had all the basic necessities.
@maggiemae They are fabulous, Maggiemae. I just have not had the time I have wanted to spend on here. I missed so much but maybe one day I will be able to look back at some of what I missed. I am trying to do so a little at a time now.
@darsphotos Its perhaps not the photos that are so good to see, Darlene, but the people who go to so much trouble to find them! You get to know the person in a small way!
What a spectacularly stunning scene, Maggie! This is a splendid image...beautiful composition and colors. Love it! Stay safe in the crazy weather that is headed your way!!
Instant fav. This is the most beautiful idyllic farm scene---especially viewed large---with such rich colors. Be safe and hope the storm doesn't affect you.
Calm before the storm! I hope it doesn't batter you too much, funnily enough very windy here with us in the UK today. Love this shot, beautiful horses, beautiful composition.
@maggiemae i know what you mean! i am almost always surprised what gets enought response to end up on the PP. not that i have many that do but t almost seems as the least effortless ones are the ones that get the greatest response!
A beautiful scene and it looks and sounds like a lovely day too. My parents mentioned the cyclone too but they seemed confused as they'd had a lot of strong winds that blew things over when I spoke to them but the weather reports said it hadn't hit them yet (they were in Matarangi on the Coromandel). Hmmm, I had though I was following you but I wasn't so I've rectified that!
Be safe--glad you are so well prepared!!!
I'm with you on your no.3. I quite like horses as long as there is a fence in between me and them!!
