Not a real animal but a small cafe on a country road. The weather was lovely - warm with little wind and we sat outside. Prices were rather high, we thought but chose the open steak sandwich. The steak had been slow cooked and should have been delicious. However, it was so tough and dry that we could hardly talk for some while. Then when we managed to swallow, we spoke to the chef who seemed to be quite horrifed that we would complain about his food! I have to say though, that the music and the water was delightful!
Three good things;
1. They said we don't have to pay for the meals. We attempted to pay for at least one but they refused.
2. A lovely day in the country attending a music festival, well organised with groups playing but piss poor at advertising - only 2 people there!
3. One of our group was not a regular member and sang with gusto - unfortunately she was very flat! John took videos and they are too embarrassing to show.
Don't you hate going out and spending money on lousy food? That really gripes me. Glad that you had a nice time besides that. Cincinnati is known for our Flying Pig Marathon. It was at first a meat packing city.
The photo has a lovely feel to it with nice lighting and tones, sorry the food didn't match the image you have created but at least it seems to owners may have listened to your comments and hopefully worked on improving their steaks!
Sounds like a day to remember maggiemae......good you didn't have to pay but not a pleasant feeling to leave....why do they never accept that the customer is always right & if it was tough it was tough!!!
Lovely setting though. Loved the image of the flat singer....I think perhaps you better give the area a miss next year!!!
@yaorenliu When the chef came in with a flurry and stood by our table and said in a demanding voice" I hear there is a problem", we couldn't answer because we were chewing, chewing!
two people at the festival? maybe the people weren't feeling so festive what with a cyclone warning. nice capture and the umbrellas are quite interesting and that background quite engaging.
