Elegance

This is a dining area in a friends house where due to their split up, the house is being sold. We attended the auction here as a 'rented crowd' but no bids were made.

Three good things;
1. All their friends came together for support and sausages were barbecued, wine sipped and conversation flowed!
2. Pages turn in our lives.
3. So much rain here - over 2 inches and everything is very green! The cyclone didn't bring wild winds and destruction at all!
What a lovley looking home! I like your POV Great to know the winds missed you.

Gorgeous shot. Great to see how green things are outside. I am glad to hear that the cyclone damage missed you.

Fantastic green!

Sounds like a sad situation, and I like your use of lighting to create a light/darkness contrast.

Beautiful pov and light, but the story behind this still makes me sad.

March 17th, 2014
Beautiful place and lovely shot Maggie.
March 17th, 2014
Sad occasion I'm sure but what a lovely room with the windows surrounding it xx
March 17th, 2014
@psychographer yes, Lisa, the table is surrounded by windows which makes dining there so beautiful!

So many memories then....sad really & this lovely home had no bids.......you have to have such large deposits in NZ which is very sensible but hard. My 21 year old grandson has just bought his first house in Morrinsville. Let out at the moment but might move into when less busy on the farm after calving. Right behind the Fire Station so handy for call outs!

Looks a beautiful spot. I am sorry about your friends.

I'm glad to hear that there was no destruction from the cyclone!!!!
March 17th, 2014
Love all the greens outside the window. I needed that.
March 17th, 2014
@happypat Good for him at the age of 21! He must have been saving!
March 17th, 2014
@yonnie NZ got all hyped up and planned for a big event and it was a total swizzle! Thanks for your thought, Yvonne!
March 17th, 2014
Love this - such beautiful wood and lush planting. Must be heartbreaking all round.
March 17th, 2014
A sad story, I hope 'the couple' are coping with the stress of selling their home, it looks stunning :)
March 17th, 2014
What an absolutely magnificent room! Too bad about the split!
March 17th, 2014
@heidihp Thanks Heidi - there were a few tears on one side!

March 17th, 2014
Such a beautiful view! Love the way you composed this! Sorry to hear about the break up, though!
March 18th, 2014

March 18th, 2014
@summerfield So much work has been put into this house. ... and no, - Mrs is not speaking! She's a funny one!
March 18th, 2014
@maggiemae - kind of reminds me about something i heard a long time ago - what does it matter if the house is beautiful if there's no harmony in it?
March 18th, 2014
@summerfield Could apply to life too, @summerfield
March 18th, 2014
@maggiemae - oh, yes. in my 60 some years, i've seen that a number of times.
March 18th, 2014
So sad but a great capture. Your photo really captures a feel of the emotion.
March 18th, 2014
@gooner46 Its nice of you to say this Chris but I think it it is the words that have shown my emotions in this picture!
March 18th, 2014
Sad circumstances, like the empty room, but as you said pages must be turned .... I hope this beautiful place will find a new family.
March 18th, 2014
Beautiful dining room and light
March 18th, 2014
@maggiemae having read the words, the emptiness in the photo resonates.
March 18th, 2014
It looks like such a lovely home too. I hope some new owners will fill it with happiness and love soon. Sad for your friends though.
March 18th, 2014
Beautiful room with a view, hope the best for your friends too!

Nice shot, Maggiemae. Very lovely room. I like how you centered it perfectly. It looks symmetrical.
March 18th, 2014
Great POV in this shot. I love the display of greenery through those large windows on all sides. One wonders how two wouldn't be able to get along in this exquisite dining setting. Guess they got bored :-)
March 19th, 2014
Looks like a gorgeous location! Beautiful colors!
