For the 14th July which I believe is a French Celebration and has the colours, red, blue and white? Looking at it, I think that was set for the 2nd July but this picture still appealed to me.
This little hairdressers must be one of the last standing! Nowdays, men go to all the salons and don’t feel compromised. But I think the mens’ hairdressers gave the men shaves as well as a good feeling about themselves.
Three good things:
1. A hot water bottle on a cold cold night - far better than an electric blanket which you can’t turf out!
2. A well made gravy.
3 .A book to take you away to a tropical isle and includes murder and mystery!
My husband still seeks out the one barber shop in Gladstone but is a little uncomfortable with the female hairdressers who have joined the staff to do all the modern haircuts. Those three good things just sound perfect to me for a winter's night.
I may be the old type. I wouldn't go to a women's hairdresser. Anyway, I am not fussy about my hair. My wife cuts it for me even though she has never learned the trade.
@sangwann I think there are a lot of guys just like you! My hubby's lucky - I trained as a hairdresser at one time in my life and now I can't get out of the domestic profession in my own home!
I agree thiese colours are perfect for the Fourth of July too. We have a proper barber in the village but Harry always goes to our nieces hairdressers.........he has a favourite girl there that does his hair!!! Say no more......I do think a proper mans place does men's hair better sometimes.
A stunning high tone effect makes these colours pop. Nice for the blokes to have their own little urban retreat where they can gossip and feel pampered.
What a neat place and a great high key shot. I like how you caught that cute barber pole. Don't see those much any more. #2 and #3 of your 3 things are 'my bag' as well :-)
Nice shot. I like the colors. i have never heard the term "Men's Hairdressers" before. We have "barbers" in the states, although I do believe that men go to salons here now too. Although I think my dad still has a barber.
A wonderful high key image. We have a barber in our neighborhood that Jim loves, who does straight-edged shaves. When Jim described it, I thought it was really a facial, but it sounds more masculine to call it a shave!
