One of the many lakes in this State. Looks like they take care of their boats.
The travel today was frustrating as we constantly met 'road closed' signs and in one instance trying to go north, went round the route three times, passing Giovanni's restaurant each time - I suspect he organised the road closure! Another time the road was closed to our next destination and we went for miles before we finally turned back and found a different route. The GPS didn't know about closed roads.
Three good things:
1. An icecream in the heat of the day.
2.The funeral for my sister was at 8.30pm our time so we raised a glass for her from over the miles.
3. A swim in the hotel pool all by myself.
So impressed with your photos maggiemae......your new camera is great......glad because same as one we bought Anthony for his birthday. Beautiful scenery......so good to see other countries. Hope you aren't too tired with all this traveling around...pace yourselves so you don't over do it. Hard being away from home sometimes!
Your sister would appreciate your gesture ...remember the good times!
@happypat Thanks Pat for your comments - yes pacing ourselves is good. The only thing is the food helpings here are so huge, we are not hungry for the rest of the day - no new restaurant experiences!
@maggiemae I believe they eat a lot in America!!
Our sons always are always surprised when we go & visit how little we eat....I think we eat plenty & your appetite does go less as you get older!
Great shot, Maggie. Lovely lake. I'm glad you're enjoying your trip in the States. Sorry that you missed your sister's funeral but I'm sure that she would be happy to know that you thought of her and toasted to her.
A beautiful scene!! Your journey sounds like hell with all the road closures!! I am sure your sister would have appreciated your toasting her - so hard for you to be away at this time. Safe Journey!!
What a beautiful shot, Maggiemae. Sounds like a bit of a frustrating drive. You do have a wonderful sense of humor about it though. Ice cream sounds delicious on a warm day. Sorry you missed your sisters funeral but wonderful to toast to her across the miles. FAV
