These are some lovely white flowers on a big bush that I stuck in a jar of green dye for over 24 hours. You can see the green tips on the petals. Very pretty!
Three good things:
1. The flowers didn't seem to mind
2. My husband is back home.
3. Not a good thing - a brother-in-law has died and we have to go to Auckland but good that we can go in an instant!
Dyeing flowers .....that is a complete new idea to me.....it works though, that green tinge looks very special!
No sooner than you are back from your travels thN you hVe to go again & worse as its for a sad reason.....so sorry maggiemae.
oh, Maggieimae!! i am so sorry for your loss! Especially tragice since John's sister is so incapacitated
your flowers are so beautiful with that tinge of green!
A very pretty effect... So sorry to hear your sad loss, it is going to be a difficult time for you all xx....btw thank you so much for your recent comments we have been so busy having family over from Thailand to stay
Super capture love the effect on these flowers-- the dying is so delicate but in general I hate shop bought dyed flowers they are usually so garish and artificial looking !
First of all my sympathies for the family and praying your travels will go well and John's sister will feel comforted by the family being with her. Secondly, you've made some pretty flowers even prettier!
Oh my friend, sorry for your family's loss - you're ability to come up always with 3 good things is such a good lesson for me - appreciate your inner strength and ability to stay positive so much :)
Sorry about your brother-in-law's death. Your 3 good things are always inspiring. I love the dye you used on the flowers - interesting POV. We only do it for Saint Patricks day, on white carnations.
My condolences, Maggie.
Very pretty shot - the dye seems to have worked rather well, the green is subtle but effective. It was something I tried as a child, with fountain pen ink and a white carnation - not very successfully!
What a creative idea to do to the flowers. It seems to have worked like a charm. Very nice shot and very cool effect of the dye. So sorry to hear of your loss.
Neat idea. You will confuse the floral art community with these beauties. We used to do this with white carnations in ink (in the days of dip pens) as the veins in their petals show up beautifully.
Super effect on the petals. So that's what you get up to when your husband's away! ;) Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. What a difficult situation it must be for you both.
