Seaweed Cave by maggiemae

Seaweed Cave

This is not actually a cave but the process by which it looks like one. The beach had golden sand and the seaweed was outlined in the sun. It is the beach where you can view Yellow-eyed penguins from 3pm onwards coming in from the sea to their nests on the bush clad cliffs.

Looks great on the Black.

The actual beach is on my other album in all its natural goldenness!

Three good things;
1. We don't have a clothes line but the wind on a sunny day dried the sheets which were anchored by a clip on our patio table.
2. Our visit to the beach was before 3pm as no-one is allowed on it after 3pm. The penguins won't come ashore if they see people on the beach.
3. Karl loved the steam punk atmosphere in places around Oamaru.

Nice shot and cool processing, Maggie. A shot of the penguins coming in would have been wicked to see. They should set up some sort of staging area for people to view that isn't on the beach. Very interesting way of drying sheets without hanging from a clothesline!

@prttblues There is a Hide built further up the cliff which provides a good look along the beach though its far away - you need binoculars!

@happypat I"ve never taken a photo of the penguins with my new zoom camera - would be much better than the ones I've taken in the past!

It has become almost abstract with this interesting processing. How wonderful if you could see the penguins coming onto the beach - maybe your new camera will be able to reach them with it's zoom lens?

Very cool processing. Hope you take some pictures of the penguins to show us. Can you see them from some other vantage point than the beach if you're not allowed on it when they come out?
