Queen for a Day by maggiemae

Queen for a Day

These magnolias are just coming out one by one and very soon go brown. The photo brings out their natural creamy yellow colour so I turned this picture B&W.

Three good things;
1. Going up north and staying in Moth Manor - a tiny 100 year old cottage standing on a rural airfield. Its called that because there is resident Tiger Moth.
2. No wifi at this cottage so I'll save up my photos.
3. Experimenting with white balance and EV.
The petals and stamens really show up like this. Lovely light on the petals, it looks beautiful.

Lovely shot, Maggie. Fav. I hope you are able to get shot of a tiger moth! We are supposed to have some here, but I've yet to see one in the summer. They are what Woolly Bear Caterpillars become after being in its cocoon.
