Three of a group of swans on this wildlife lake set off and the leader appeared to be doing overarm - make that 'foot'! We were having a picnic on the other side of the lake and the many birdlife kept well away from us. Shortly after this there was a scuffle and all the swans flew away! Maximum zoom.
This place has the interesting name of Devils Bridge Wetlands.
Yesterday's photo of the dogs - the one on the left was the real one - actually they were both real - I just used layers to create the twin look. Changed the eye colour in one and the collar colour (funny words to say) in the other.
Three good things:
1. Beautiful hot temperatures but not too hot like other parts of NZ.
2. A lovely bike ride home - only about 10km but all on tar seal and only about 4 cars passed me!
3. I had forgotten what sunburn felt like!
Beautifully captured shot of these graceful creatures. Love the black ones especially. Nicely seen and captured. Sounds like a lovely day. Love John Sawyer's comment...hahaha!!
Fabulous capture, Maggie. Do I see little ones behind the adults? They are very beautiful birds. I do see the foot of the one in front. Nice timing! Sorry to hear about the sunburn. Get aloe. If you have an aloe plant, that is the best, but if not, any lotion that has aloe and maybe vitamin E in it to help the burn.
@prttblues No, Bev, they are only ducks and uninterested ducks that is! I just about threw myself into the water throwing food and they totally ignored it! Sunburn is nice - just crinkly!
Such a beautiful scene. I love black swans and only saw some here last year for the first time. You took a great photo as black can be so hard to capture. I always enjoy your three good things. Sunburn is painful. I now wear sunscreen on my face even when it is cloudy outside. FAV
@maggiemae It's frustrating when ducks don't want to cooperate, isn't it? I remember when I was young and got a bad sunburn, I used to peel the skin off. But then I did a lot of odd things when I was younger!
