Perfect Street by maggiemae

Perfect Street

A street in our town that is outstanding in a shared beauty. All the great houses front on to the street and take pride in their individual garden design. The lawns are kept mowed and there is no rubbish lying around or even cars in driveways!
I’m not sure I would want to live here - you would have to be very tidy and particular. I’m inclined to look out the window and mutter, I’ll do the lawns tomorrow!

Three good things;
1. Lots of memories and some great photos taken.
2. The washing machine coped nicely as did the dryer
3. Tomorrow I’m going to curl up in a corner and read a real book!
Love to see the green lawn. A very tidy street and nice looking home.

This is beautiful. We live in a neighborhood that is nicely kept up but most of the houses (not ours are two story. We also have at least one large tree in every front yard which, I think, makes the streets look a bit more "cluttered", for lack of a better word. Not pristine neat as this one. I wouldn't mind living here.

that actually looks kind of creepy... like they've all been brainwashed into being exactly, perfectly, the same!

Harry would be right at home in this street maggiemae.....he would have his lawns as pristine as these & would take great pride in doing so! Not for me though, I like a bit of variety in my houses & love more a natural garden. Compliments to the householders though they must work hard at it! You loll about in the garden & enjoy that book....it's a long one but gets more gripping as you go on!

@northy Probably not brain washed but would have extreme expectation of keeping your property neat!
March 7th, 2015
@happypat All the houses are beautifully designed and all different as are the gardens. Its the perfect neatness that is common, Pat! Hummph!

Bep
This would be too perfect for me!

Neighbours Ramsey Street all it need at is Bouncer the dag ,I am very old school
March 7th, 2015
Do you mean dog or dag, Phil @philcameron59 ? I can't imagine a dog in this street!
March 7th, 2015
very apt title!...............a little too perfect for my liking, I like a little bit of random!
March 7th, 2015
Lovely houses, but feels slightly odd to me. . . . I would be so tempted to get the sidewalk chalk out!!
March 7th, 2015
@jokristina I'm sure you would get a few frowns from the windows around, Jo!
March 7th, 2015
I can just imagine the Stepford Wives all living along this street - perfection is not for me!! Are you able to have a rest now your family have gone home?
March 7th, 2015
You sound a little like me. :O) While the neighborhood looks tidy and pretty, it also seems like it would a little boring for me.
March 7th, 2015
i wouldnt fit in at all, reminds me of ed sissorhands
March 7th, 2015
Makes a lovely shot...but I agree. WOuld get boring after a while.
March 7th, 2015
Beautiful neighborhood! With you processing this looks like an artist's conception.
March 7th, 2015
Awesome shot
March 7th, 2015
it is a fabulous street maggie and no doubt a source of much pride to the residents
I am cutting my grass tomorrow, the first cut of the year after our winter months :)
March 8th, 2015
@phil_howcroft I think I just might put my grassy shoes on and do a cut too, Phil.
March 8th, 2015
@pamknowler Thanks Pam, yes, putting feet up but not taking photos - yet!
March 8th, 2015
@kali66 That comment made me smile, Kali!
March 8th, 2015
This looks like a retirement community gone sterile. I would be so bored living on this street, everything all looks the same.
March 8th, 2015
I'm with @northy ! It looks like a movies set where no real people live! i'm also with you about putting of until tomorrow and would never be ble to keep this up! Great shot of it though!
March 8th, 2015
Looks like a movie set for a creepy movie! Great shot of it! :)
March 8th, 2015
@juliedduncan Yes, it does, Julie - like no human figure at all here! Perhaps they mow the lawns at night!
March 8th, 2015
@maggiemae Or - SOMETHING mows the lawns . . . ;)
March 8th, 2015
@juliedduncan wwooohooo!
March 8th, 2015
Looks too perfect and lacking character!
March 8th, 2015
great shot ... a little too perfect for me... my dad lived in a neighborhood in Florida where they didn't want the residents to own a pickup truck because they didn't want them sitting in the driveways! Nuts!
March 8th, 2015
Looks like a film set, do people really live here?
March 8th, 2015
@lynnz Well, I'd have to say everyone has a choice. If you don't like it, move where you do like it! I agree with your words!
March 8th, 2015
@dibzgreasley They probably do, Debs but I bet they don't wear aprons!
March 8th, 2015
It's a bit unreal, good find
March 8th, 2015
@neatz A certain sort of people would be very proud of living here, Anita! Maybe not from one of us!
March 8th, 2015
Ummmmm! Perhaps too neat and tidy for me. I prefer what my husband describes a s a 'lived in' look. This is actually an excuse for falling short of being perfectly tidy!!
March 8th, 2015
@thistle Agree totally - cushions out of place, coffee cups on the dresser, books on the floor, Joyce!
March 8th, 2015
@maggiemae My Mother would have lived happily in that street. Not long before she died, aged 90, she said given her time over again she would spend a lot less of it doing housework That is one thing I've always remembered:-)
March 8th, 2015
A lovely clear shot and focus Maggie.
March 8th, 2015
Looks the opposite of how I live! A bit weird
March 8th, 2015
beautiful capture of the street! love the line of the road and footpath!
March 8th, 2015
@thistle That should be broadcast over a loudspeaker, Joyce. Imagine the work involved in keeping their properties pristine!
March 8th, 2015
What a beautiful area but not my thing. It is amazing that there are places like this that are so neat and look unlived in. I hope you got to curl up and read a book.
March 9th, 2015
It is very pretty, but I'm not sure I could cope with all that perfection, being so imperfect myself.
March 10th, 2015
This street feels almost like surreal!
