I suppose this is a bit of a masquerade. I did take this selfie but I don’t have a costume like this - can’t stand all the rattling for one thing!
Three good things:
1. The last of the radishes - one of my favourite sandwiches is just with radish and a bit of salt.
2. My book is taking over the spare time that I have. Secrets, a long forgotten artist and a town’s history is changed. Dorset on the coast. Is Blacknowle a place?
3. I made cottage pie (sometimes known as shepherds pie) for the first time in ages - the recipe is good with red wine, vegetables, and nutmeg and cheese in the potato top..
Wow this is something very theatrical....I must say it doesn't look a bit like you.....I think you look amazing though! All that black & studs, it looks just amazing on black! We call it cottage pie when it's beef & shepherds pie when it's lamb. I have never heard of Blacknowle so I dont think so....is that the name of the book...Secrets? Radish sandwich!!
@happypat Blacknowle is where it is set - on the coast. I can't find it on google so it must be a fictitious village. I'll have to look at this photo on the black, thanks, Pat!
What a fun shot. You look great, Maggiemae. I have to get some radishes and see if I can find some I saw on our tv, watermelon radishes. You are quite the cook. Sounds like a yummy meal. FAV
@darsphotos Radishes are always expensive in our shops, year round, Darlene but they do grow so well in the garden when its warm. I bought the nutmeg in 1994 in Penang so it lasts well. I've got a nutmeg grater too but I can't find it!
@maggiemae I have not checked to see the cost of radishes in our stores. I hope to grow some and some carrots and maybe tomatoes too. We have herbs that have lasted well too. Ours is in a small jar so no need to grate it. I have not shopped for it whole before. You always make me laugh. I hope you find your grater.
Yee Haw! Thought you were a cowgirl at first!! Has anyone ever told you that you remind them of Helen Mirren? Every time I see your pretty face I think of her. You can google her if you are not familiar with her.
@kali66 Sounds like a challenge, Kali! I'm a bit occupied with guests who don't understand what a photograph is other than a picture with everybody smiling! But as you have gathered, Oamaru is the King of Steampunk in NZ!
Fabulous fun selfie! I always have a lot of radishes on hand and never thought about making a radish sandwich....thanks for the idea! Your cottage pie sound so yummy, too!
A great fun selfie Maggie. It definitely looks better on black. Never tried a radish sandwich. They grow easily here so we have them around all summer. Must try it. I love your three things
Such a great selfie!! Don't know how you did it, but it is really cool! I am not even attempting this one, as I appear to own not a stitch of anything resembling steampunk!
your three things always make me happy to read.
i need to make shepherd's pie one day soon too.
it sounds great.
