Whitianga in NZ’s Coromandel east coast, seems to be a rich man’s paradise - lots of fancy cars, fancy boats and luxury houses! Not my idea of a holiday but good to spend a day here to appreciate the beauty of Mercury Bay and its surrounds.
Three good things:
1. Coffee was rather expensive but the sun shone, the men launched their boats and the children swung upside down on the swings while we watched!
2. Children making sandcastles with moats - somethings don’t change!
3. Limited internet means budgeting with my use but planning is good!
Great shot, we were up that way last year although we stayed on the Coromandel Town side of the coast as it was far more "us" than the Whitianga side of the coast!
@graemestevens Thats where we are heading today! Hoping for bush accommodation - had my fill of white sand and shaking it out of my shoes all the time!
Beautiful light Maggienae. Will be interesting to see further up the coast as we have never been higher than Whitianga. I am amazed at the amount of Internet you are managing to get....wifi must be good up there & all over in fact. I struggle when I am over in the hills around Raglan.
My favorite time of the day, and you look like you are making the most of it! I can just see you in one of those lounge chairs by the pool with a drink in your hand and the camera in the other!
