Back into the big city reluctantly of course but the Big Boy’s Toys have got John as a guest in the Indian Motorbike show.
We drove up the other side of the wide Thames Estuary where fishing is Number one. Lots of houses along the roadside but not luxury. We passed Maraetai Beach where over 30 years ago we launched our trailer sailer called Myth Isle - a play on words as this boat was not actually fast as a missile but was of the type Trojan.
Three good things:
1. In this photo, John stopped at just the right place at the beginning of this pier to be the centre of attention. Sadie is used to this!
2. Sadie (our Merc) was parked in the motel area and John checked to se if she was locked from a verandah higher up! Sadie flashed all her lights and opened up the boot! We couldn’t find how to shut it so had to go down and give her the hard word. John growled at her and she complained, I haven’t been programmed to do that! lol
3. Back in the land where during the night, the helicopters hover, the police sirens sound and the rain pours down! Not to forget the incredibly slow internet. It takes about 3 mins to upload one comment! The good thing is that we can cope because we don’t live here!
Sadie is sitting spot on Maggiemae.......nicely framed by the posts. John is very firm with Sadie ! Sorry you have left the wilds but looking forward to more lovely places. Are you calling in at Mount Monganui?
Enjoying the unusual perspective of the pier..looking inland, and the contrast between the pale shore and lush vegetation ,the more I look the more appealing it is - fav.
Glad that Sadie is still giving you lot's of fun but you'll understand that, for me, it's the Indian that's the real star of this little adventure... us Big Boys have got to stick together!
What a great trip you are having. Just like your mothers memoirs ( which I am galfway through reading. I love the leading lines in this and Sadie is so well placed. Fav.
Beautiful shot, and Sadie is in the center spot, just like she deserves!! And, that will be life in the hands of robots when that day comes! You will ask them to do something human, and they will respond that they have not yet been programmed for that!
