New Years Day for me was a first for everything ( as I suppose for everyone)
I waited for the opportunity to happen…….
We did the First Footing. and next door to one of our friends who had built a new house on the coast, there was this new house. John had seen it from the main road and thought it was off centre! I do admire the architecture- rather striking, I thought!
Three Good Things:
1. It wasn’t off centre - just hadn’t had the base put in yet!
2. We both thought that “up the sleeve’ meant something special. I thought, “Time up the sleeve “ would mean you have plenty of time! It actually meant "have an ace up one's sleeve”! How can you have a card up your item of clothing mean anything but uncomfortable!
3. What happened to music with a story - it seems now,to be the ‘beat’ and so. dancing. Glad I didn’t have to go to a party! Just watched the Edinburgh Tattoo - brilliant skill and practice made perfect1
Striking and brave architecture - think John could be right. It was good wasn't it (the tattoo) - we played hooky re parties. Have a wonderful New Year Magiemae.
I love the clean lines of modern architecture and they are usually minimalist inside..... I think I like it because it contrasts with my more chaotic house. It's nice to be older and not have to party. We saw the old year out/new year in watching an old movie'Love Actually '
Great shot of an awesome house! You'll have to post another shot when it's completed! I love modern architecture- and this one almost looks like a pre-fab which is the coming trend. Something new for the new year! Have a happy one!
Great capture, colors...I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to architecture...however, it does look like it has a lot of light through the windows
I thought you were coming dancing with me? I have an ace up my sleeve....would be very scratchy! I like this house very much & agree with Irene, it's the contrast with my traditional house. I would only want a house like this in your country though.....the climate lends itself better.
It looks like it's missing its roof! At least from this vantage point. While I don't normally go for modern architecture, it seems to make sense at the shore because of all the light it lets into a home. Nice shot!
Although it's very modern, I actually like this. We used to do the First Footer thing in our family sometimes--but I hadn't thought of it for years. Happy New Year Maggiemae.
Gret pov and an interesting building. We have a TV programme here called Grand Designs and it follows people who have very individualistic houses built - some like this. I often think that, although they look good, I wouldn't want to live in them, they just don't look homely enough for me.
Happy New Year Maggie!
Happy New Year!
