See through house by maggiemae

See through house

New Years Day for me was a first for everything ( as I suppose for everyone)

I waited for the opportunity to happen…….
We did the First Footing. and next door to one of our friends who had built a new house on the coast, there was this new house. John had seen it from the main road and thought it was off centre! I do admire the architecture- rather striking, I thought!

Three Good Things:
1. It wasn’t off centre - just hadn’t had the base put in yet!

2. We both thought that “up the sleeve’ meant something special. I thought, “Time up the sleeve “ would mean you have plenty of time! It actually meant "have an ace up one's sleeve”! How can you have a card up your item of clothing mean anything but uncomfortable!
3. What happened to music with a story - it seems now,to be the ‘beat’ and so. dancing. Glad I didn’t have to go to a party! Just watched the Edinburgh Tattoo - brilliant skill and practice made perfect1
How unique. Love the architecture and the setting.

Too modern for my taste but it looks rather airy with lots of light. Happy New Year Maggie!

Striking architecture and a nice area to live.

Happy New Year Maggie!

Very sparse , tidy and not really to my taste -- looks rather like a pre-fab place glad you had a good evening welcoming in the New Year .

What an interesting looking house

@beryl Not my taste at all too, Beryl - but worth a photo.

Striking and brave architecture - think John could be right. It was good wasn't it (the tattoo) - we played hooky re parties. Have a wonderful New Year Magiemae.

I love the clean lines of modern architecture and they are usually minimalist inside..... I think I like it because it contrasts with my more chaotic house. It's nice to be older and not have to party. We saw the old year out/new year in watching an old movie'Love Actually '

@maggiemae Agree !!!

Great shot of an awesome house! You'll have to post another shot when it's completed! I love modern architecture- and this one almost looks like a pre-fab which is the coming trend. Something new for the new year! Have a happy one!

Looks very interesting!

Great capture, colors...I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to architecture...however, it does look like it has a lot of light through the windows

Great house! Happy New Year!
January 1st, 2016
It is a very unusual style of house! I'm not sure I'd want to clean all those windows ! It does make for a gorgeous picture!

Interesting building. I like the way the way you look right through the windows. Nicely captured

Very unique house. Great views too. Wonder what the fend shui experts would say about seeing right through a house.

@ishutter I would guess that the people who wanted this house wouldn't know how to spell that let alone what it was all about!
January 2nd, 2016
I thought you were coming dancing with me? I have an ace up my sleeve....would be very scratchy! I like this house very much & agree with Irene, it's the contrast with my traditional house. I would only want a house like this in your country though.....the climate lends itself better.

@happypat This house is perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, Pat Looks like a holiday house to me!
January 2nd, 2016
Nice colour; looks like it will be a great house; I wouldn't mind having an Ace up a sleeve :) Happy New Year!!
January 2nd, 2016
Looks good in this setting. I bet it has amazing views.
January 2nd, 2016
So cool! I really like your perspective here and the bright blue sky.
January 2nd, 2016
Your pov is great...to give that "see through" effect. Lovely architecture.
January 2nd, 2016
Love all the vibrant colours in this photo!
January 2nd, 2016
Looks awesome! Love the architecture!
January 2nd, 2016
Looks like my kind of house and it looks like a home that should be on the coast.
January 2nd, 2016
@deliad On top of a ridge overlooking the ocean, Delia - near Moeraki!
January 2nd, 2016
Not quite my cup of tea but I guess it will have a splendid view. It looks like a whole lot of boxes just stuck together.
January 2nd, 2016
@salza I think this is a new type of building - start out with one module and add others!
January 2nd, 2016
@maggiemae taking a Lego model to new levels perhaps.......
January 2nd, 2016
@joysfocus Thanks for your wishes for the New Year, Joy! This might be nice for a minimalist holiday home! Easy to clean!
January 2nd, 2016
Interesting architecture, great capture.

January 2nd, 2016
Straight out of a magazine! Terrific architectural capture.
January 2nd, 2016
I love the look of this house and would love to see the floor plan. Nice shot to share with us.
January 2nd, 2016
@dide Actually I would too, Diane! I would think the living area is in the middle and the bedrooms on the outer!
January 2nd, 2016
Makes a good photo.
January 2nd, 2016
A lovely bright image to start the year with.
January 2nd, 2016
a very contemporary shot, bright, modern, minimalist - I quite like it.
January 2nd, 2016
Lovely shot of a very modern building.
January 2nd, 2016
love your processing,
January 2nd, 2016
I think they'll have nice light.
January 2nd, 2016
Love this house. Seeing, suppose nearly 360 degrees. Thanks for sharing.
January 2nd, 2016
I love the architecture although I don't think I could run around it in my birthday suit, well captured.
January 2nd, 2016
Great shot.
January 2nd, 2016
So modern.
January 2nd, 2016
It looks like it's missing its roof! At least from this vantage point. While I don't normally go for modern architecture, it seems to make sense at the shore because of all the light it lets into a home. Nice shot!
January 2nd, 2016
What an interesting looking house! They must have magnificent views from the areas with windows! I think it's all rather strange!
January 2nd, 2016
Although it's very modern, I actually like this. We used to do the First Footer thing in our family sometimes--but I hadn't thought of it for years. Happy New Year Maggiemae.
January 3rd, 2016
This really is a stunning house. Excellent pov too.
January 3rd, 2016
Gret pov and an interesting building. We have a TV programme here called Grand Designs and it follows people who have very individualistic houses built - some like this. I often think that, although they look good, I wouldn't want to live in them, they just don't look homely enough for me.
January 4th, 2016
That is an interesting piece of architecture. Almost minimalist! It looks very lonely by itself.
January 5th, 2016
The colors and the clean lines of the house remind me of a David Hockney painting.
