The Pair by maggiemae

The Pair

These two ducks together have both been out to a party on Saturday night -
Now, one’s headless and the other is legless!

NZ’s native duck, the Paradise Duck, commonly known as the Paralysed Duck (only by us)

Three good things:
1. A wonderfulyl hot and sunny day - not so on the other side of the world - snow and cold!
2. I think I have learned more English words to use on 365 than I learnt in school!
3. Sat inside a lovely cafe on the beach and watched everyone else dig into huge scones, sausages and eggs, chips and enormous sandwiches and felt good - I just had coffee!
Gorgeous colors!!!

Great shot of this pair of party-goers. (Paradise shelducks ... but you knew that) the colours of the water are stunning.

@snaphappi I was actually aiming for the reflection Maggie but found there was other interesting things when I downloaded! They were quite a distance away!
April 10th, 2016
yes, lovely colours, and I shall always think of them as Paralysed Ducks now. LOL
April 10th, 2016
Yes , they've definitely had a hard night out and need to recup rate! Wonderful colours and reflections. In this part of the other side of the world we've had a glorious spring day but in parts of On trio, same latitude different continent, they have deep snow. The world has gone mad!

Beautiful ripples & two ducks looking a bit like I'm feeling, wishing I could stand on one leg just like that with no problem, wouldn't need crutches
April 10th, 2016
@happypat We do need two legs - except when we are putting on socks! Poor you Pat - hope its not too painful now!
April 10th, 2016
What a simple life, being a duck! Beautiful photo Maggie.
April 10th, 2016
Wonderful reflections, love the colors! The duck on the right does look a bit hungover, can't face the light of day!

Fabulous color intensity for these very unique animals. One wonders how he knows to get around with no head and how he can get around with no feet!
#3. Good for you for abstaining!

@grammyn The pond is reflecting green willows. Perhaps ducks are good at yoga!
April 10th, 2016
@maggiemae it certainly looks like these are!
April 10th, 2016
What a beautiful image! I love the intense green and beautiful reflections...fun commentary, too! :-)

They do look in a poor ole way! I like the composition and the lovely reflections. The green is absolutely beautiful. While we were walking by the river at Cambridge we spotted two ducks mating. The male was almost drowning the female her head was just about under the water! However she survived and all was well, but I was amazed to see it.

I love the colors but your description is best!
April 10th, 2016
@jennywren I have seen this in the Springtime too and am horrified! I want to jump into the water and beat those drakes around the snozzle!
April 10th, 2016
Love the colours here.

You made me laugh! I feel headless now. It is 12:45 pm. Hubby woke me up. Now I am wide awake. Thanks for looking at the Picasso photo. I did delete it. I had second thoughts. Maybe I should not place the original Picasso here. I deleted the photo and only placed mine again. Gone are all the comments.

@sdutoit I thought it was nice seeing a Picasso again! Now lie back and think of England!
April 10th, 2016
@maggiemae Ha ha tried to count sheep also that did not work either. Better switch off the laptop. Just now the sun will rise and I will still check photos on 365...
