If you don’t remember that day, I do! We were on an Alaskan flight in a float plane, flying across the wilderness from Ketchikan. We landed on this fjord. The guy in the back seat wanted to swap seats with John in the front right hand seat ( because John was a pilot) and so John edged himself out the side window, ducked under the wing and stood up looking bedazzled! His iPhone had slid out of his chest pocket into the deep blue sea! Never to be seen again!
Three good things:
1. I didn’t manhandle that backseat passenger into the same deep waters.
2. Eventually after a lot of insurance palaver we will get part of the cost back!
3. I wonder if we had rung it up, we might have heard, “gurgle gurgle”!
That is a cute story and I like how you portray it in your picture. Hans, when he still had his construction company before retiring, had a habit of carrying his cell phone in his shirt pocket and lost it many times. once or twice it fell into a pond. always getting a new one was a nuisance and costly. he mentioned it at the Roger's store where he purchased them and the salesman said jokingly you should carry an army one. undestractible. well he got himself one and it drives me crazy as it's so heavy, his shirt pocket is always lopsided.
@bruni Funny to hear your story, Bruni! John's pocket has a zip and he normally zips it up when his phone is there but this time he had just finished taking photos! All lost of course!
What a story... poor John. Great composition to illustrate the story.
BTW, I am going to Ketchikan at the end of the month. What do you recommend there? besides taking care of my cell phone...
@anazad511 lots of diamond shops there ready to sell you a $8000 diamond! Take a harbour cruise and see all the islands around. Must - go on a float plane event - about 1 and 1/2 hours flying and well worth it! Inland it is so much a wilderness!
Well I do t think there's any chance of John getting that back then! Love your graphics here Maggie, you could be an illustrated as well as a writer! You never know there might be a call from the deep one day!
Your creativity always makes me laugh and smile! Maybe Yolanda and Mr. Man will be able to retrieve it from these characters on one of their adventures!
Cute processing!
