What if... by maggiemae

What if...

In Oamaru saw this fellow - What if he had to run anywhere! He would fall flat on his face!

Friday, 15th July - today is the beginning of another future!

We have bought a caravan! Not one with no facilities and a hard mattress but one with memory foam ones and full fridge/freezer, gas stove, grill and oven, television, a bathroom big enough to turn around and full self containment! A photo will arrive eventually!

Three good things:
1. I’m so excited I can’t contain myself!
2. John hasn’t got cold feet - warm socks!
3. Next step - get a tow ball on our car. Easy but expensive!
If only they realised how rediculous they look! Jealous of the sound of your caravan :)

I don't think the front of his jeans are covering up his personal parts !!!!!!
July 15th, 2016
Yes must be very tricky to walk with your knee's out so your pants don't fall down..Wow caravan sounds great ,, May see you up our way some time ..
July 15th, 2016
@julzmaioro Probably beginning of next year when holidays finish, Julia!
July 15th, 2016
Ha Ha!

It sounds like what we call a motorhome. We've had one for years, started camping soon after we were married, and love it. Anxious o see a photo of it. And welcome to the open road.
July 15th, 2016
@aglennc No, its just a caravan - we pull it with our car, Anita! I do like that phrase........ welcome to the open road!
July 15th, 2016
Yes it seems to be a fashion here too. Your caravan sounds amazing - happy travels

Great street shot. I once had a student who actually tripped and fell on his low slung jeans. I kept telling him that this would happen. He, of course, ignored me. Congratulations on your caravan. I look forward to seeing your photo of it.
July 15th, 2016
Nice shot. I do not like the jeans so low like this at all and see it here as well. Wow, how nice? We had a tent trailer we pulled with our car when I was a young girl for family vacations. Fun! Getting ready to do some traveling? I am envious. I want to travel the USA. Have a great time with it. Look forward to photos.

@daisymiller @darsphotos Thanks you two! I'll put one up later in the day!
July 15th, 2016
I don't go a bundle on the cut in material at the knee either. You've made your dream come true all in the space of a short time and wish you enjoy it for a long time to come.
July 15th, 2016
@jaffacakes I was quite surprised when hubby came round to the idea so quickly! i tried not to be pushy but the caravan that was the best was going to be traded in by tomorrow if no-one bought it! I hope we are going to be physically able to handle it though for a long time!

Bep
Great street shot. Enjoy your caravan. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
July 15th, 2016
This is a fashion that I don't understand at all! We were at a party tonight where two of the young female guests wore filmy, harem pants with the crotch between knee and ankle. I'm glad I'm old... congratulations on the caravan.
July 15th, 2016
@vignouse Thos harem pants sound incredible! Did you push her over to see what would happen?
July 15th, 2016
So true not sure why the do this. congrats on the caravan looking forward to the photos :)
July 16th, 2016
So ridiculous looking -- don't they realise how silly they look from the back ! Looking forward to view your new c/van -- we used to have a c/van the whole of our married life -- lovely carefree hols and weekends !!
July 16th, 2016
Looks like he's wearing his 5-year-old sister's pants. What a goon! :)
July 16th, 2016
We see this in Chicago as well -- and I saw several on the streets of Boston. Really does look absurd. I wonder how he thinks he looks?
July 16th, 2016
Nice capture of today's world of sagging jeans...It is absurd and has very unfortunate origins from the world of incarceration which I'm sure a lot of these youngsters don't know about.
July 16th, 2016
@taffy i would say he would think he was 'cool, man!"
July 16th, 2016
I saw a fellow at the electronic store last week with pants in the same way. But he was bending over putting things in the car and my goodness- there was just too much information exposed with the pants that low! I couldn't get the camera out fast enough- but maybe that was a good thing. fun shot!
July 16th, 2016
Its all been said great street capture
July 16th, 2016
Nice street scene -- certainly a statement of today's culture. I don't see how they walk very far in those, though, at least not comfortably. Congratulations on your caravan; it sounds wonderful! I'm looking forward to seeing your photo of it!
July 16th, 2016
Great candid shot.
July 16th, 2016
It's tough to be an individual these days, a lot of competition, not a lot of originality here... I wonder what he looks like in his imagination.
July 16th, 2016
They must be so uncomfortable! Great exciting news about the caravan
July 16th, 2016
Love those pants at half mast. Doesn't realize how ridiculous it looks.
July 16th, 2016
@tonydebont half mast is a good phrase - dead on their feet?
July 16th, 2016
Ridiculous fashion. All the youngsters around here wear their jeans the same. I often tell them to pull them up I don't like seeing next weeks washing :) Must be a sign of getting old!!
July 16th, 2016
@shirleybankfarm No not at all - a sign! Its what is acceptable and what is not! Acceptable of course may be a difference of opinion!
July 16th, 2016
My kind of caravan... Have fun!
July 16th, 2016
Awesome shot
July 16th, 2016
Nice candid shot!
July 16th, 2016
superb candid
July 16th, 2016
Great capture, unfortunately it seems to be the in style nowadays, they look awful and must be so uncomfortable to wear!!
July 16th, 2016
Caravan sounds fabulous, used to love taking the boys when they were little.
His jeans are just plain silly
July 16th, 2016
Lovely capture and your lucky to have a caravan. I had one I used a lot but it went many years ago when I couldn't cope with it on my own. I do miss it so enjoy.
July 16th, 2016
Surely that cannot be comfortable. Over and above that they look ridiculous.
Congrats on the caravan. May you enjoy many happy adventures with it.
July 16th, 2016
Nothing new to see here. It has been rampant in our country for years. They often have to hang onto them with one hand to keep them from falling.

Thrilled about your new acquisition and looking forward to the photos
July 16th, 2016
@grammyn You do see them often try to hitch the trousers up! They must be so uncomfortable ......but trendy.......for them! I posted a pic of the caravan on the 15th, Katy.
July 16th, 2016
@maggiemae just saw it nice
July 17th, 2016
i say our youth will have back and other related problems before they turn 40 thanks to this ridiculous fashion. well, at least you're not in canada, the land of self-expression by fashion. just this afternoon at the bus, i almost wanted to tell this woman - she's not even young, for heaven's sakes! - she should have just not bothered putting in any clothes.
July 18th, 2016
@summerfield Mutton dressed as lamb, eh?
July 18th, 2016
I hate this youth trend. I keep waiting for it to pass, but it just seems that the pants go even lower still!
July 18th, 2016
That's too funny.
