A visit to the city about 1 &1/2 hours away was of no concern with snow or ice thank goodness. John just spent 2 hours in the hospital waiting to get a small blister out of his eye while I took photos of the lovely Dunedin harbour.
Three good things:
1. His eye may or may not be fixed but its absolutely no problem
2. A day of sunshine and no wind - again - this boat moored here was an Italian search vessel based in Antarctica.
3. Smoked chilli and cheese saveloys made a tasty tea and we sat at our kitchen bar for a first and enjoyed each other’s company!
Nice colours. Had to find out 'saveloys' and was very surprised to discover that 'saveloys' is our Dutch 'cervelaatworst' ('worst' meaning 'sausage'). How I love languages!
@kiwinanna No it wasn't painful even though it sounds like it. Just a thick bit of skin over the eye which encloses some water. They just prick it. Mind you, John being a 'man' wouldn't say if it was painful!
Great vivid colors and good news that the eye is fine. I think my sight is one thing I'd never want to loose. It always amazes me that a harbor can be this still! Good shot!
Great image - colourful, and my lesson from you today is I would have probably looked over rather than through the fence - going to try that another time.
Beautiful reflections and color. Glad to hear that John's eye is going to be OK. I really enjoyed your discussion about the fence line. I agree with @vignouse - not an instinctive inclusion, but very effective, nonetheless.
