I have realised as 100’s of other photographers, that the best photos probably happens at the beginning or the end of the day… This one taken early in the day. I liked the cloud in the sky and moved backwards till I could get all this in. Had to struggle with sun spots.
Three good things;
1. I’m reading… The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” which was encouraged by my older sister (now deceased) for me as a good read! I have to say I am being carried on by this book, looking at history and the past, tough and the smooth, incredible, perhaps!
2. I’m busy making stories out of what I see in this big camp with so many diverse ambitions! Boats with big motors, family with small children, even more diverse, a couple who have pulled up beside us, he put up the tiny tent, pulled out the new blow up mattress, climbed back into the vehicle with no shirt on and some muscles displayed. Didn’t make the picture with his young partner.. she stayed in the vehicle working her mobile all the time… she had on a lacy ’onesie” - I don’t think this place is what she hoped.
3. We are SO enjoying…!
Those two times of day I win the really best light is burnt the talker fee. I think you did a marvelous job avoiding sunspots and all with this photo. It definitely tells the story of vacation life
lol! How hysterical. I forgot to preview before posting. I think I said those two times of day are when the really best light is for taking photos. I can't be sure of that though. Sorry for messing you up, and thanks for being so understanding !!!
Beautiful morning shot. The canoe makes a nice leading line. Do you sketch? My mother would sketch the people she observed at various places. I was thinking that it would be entertaining to sketch the people you are describing.
@grammyn - i enjoyed your comment, girlfriend. it almost sounded like welsh to me. :-P
you're bound to get sunflares; the best thing is to just accept it. that aside, this turned out really great - i love the whimsy of the clouds in the middle against that gorgeous blue of the sky. love all those little people by the shore. aces, maggiemae! aces!
I really like this shot. I feel like I'm sitting on the beach holding my camera to catch a candid as the folks with the canoe walk by. Wonderful summery feel- which would be nice right now!
What a great capture, Maggiemae. I love the sky and the view as well. So true, I go back to the first shot even when out sometimes and that is the one.
#2. Nothing better than observing people and wondering why they do the things they do...
