An exciting venture is going on in our area - called the Godzone Race. Teams of 4 which must include a female, race over the most amazing territory, mountain bikes, trail running, kayaks, swimming etc for up to 7 days! You can follow their progress, all 72 teams, live on the net! Who is in the front, who has gone off the trail ( they all have to work out their own route)!
Three good things;
1. This is the map where you see their progress - it changes every 2 minutes.
2. They do have a dark period where they are not allowed to tackle a dangerous river, cliff, trail - commonly called night when normal people sleep!
3. Watching “The Darling Buds of May’ again!
There was a reality show on US TV for awhile called "The Amazing Race" which was similar to this although the method of transportation was much broader and included pretty much any form of transportation you could get your hands on. They had clues they had to figure out and then get to the next point before anyone else did for top points.
@kwiksilver They are a heck of a lot younger than us - though there is an older team - 50's and 60's who have done well! They will probably have a heart attack soon!
@veengupta It is so good and each team has to have a tracker to enable their progress to be seen on a map! One team left theirs behind and was penalised by 2 hours!
