Getting into the ‘back home’ scene where you have to have responsibility, we decided to go out for a coffee! .hmm….
This cafe right on the small beach here was benefiting from the sun and almost no easterly wind as is normal. The window was wide open.
Three good things:
1. John chose a huge savoury cheese scone and I helped him reduce the size of this!
2. Our Lawn Mower people arrived and made our place look rather neat. We did listen to them on the deck for some time about their troubles but thats what you do!
3. Our fight with the GST and IRD had good consequences.
What a pretty view. Nice place to sit and have a coffee or a meal. John's scone sounds delicious. We have gardeners too and appreciate that they are good at what they do and affordable. The Dad speaks no English so its impossible to understand him, his son translates. Missed something. Will have to look backwards. GST, IRD?
@rhoing As I was looking through the eyepiece at this scene, Thom, I just manipulated the exposure and f stop so I could see the outside as well as the inside!
That is another good place to bump into people. We do have a cafe that is also such a local hang out it's hard to go there without seeing someone you know.
@kiwichick But that might be in a smaller area than ours and ....2. in your area there might be more people your own age and with your own interests too.
Yes we are in a smaller area, and therefore we know a wide range of people here so wherever we go in town we usually bump into people we know lol! Then again, if I lived in your town I think I would make this my usual coffee spot (as long as they serve great coffee to go with their lovely view).
@kiwichick Their food is the best, Lesley, but the weather is more often grey with a cold easterly which means they have to shut these windows! I was lucky to get this!
