Honey Eaters by maggiemae

Honey Eaters

The afore mentioned mushroom has got bigger and bigger! It could be a meal in itself! However, I had put out honey for the birds after a fantail flew into our lounge, but it was the ‘silver eye’s who arrived and fought over the honey.

Three good things;
1. I found out that the MF - manual focus ring on the front of the camera does not work with photos that need a fast exposure.
2. This one is processed using picmonkey which has an immense array of choices if you find them out and give them a try!.. This one, using “Effects’ and then “Focal Pixelate’!
3. The Cricket was abandoned due to rain! Hooray!
Your edit has lifted this out of the ordinary, fascinating pixelation!

VML the bird with a strong eye whilst the rest is mosaic bokeh.

Such an inventive way of processing a delightful shot - it certainly leaves the focus on the bird.

Interesting processing. How do you put the honey out? Do you just pour it into the feeder, or put it on something?

@skstein I mix it into boiling water, add ice cubes and pour into a dish. Sometimes I add breadcrumbs or stale biscuits, Sandy.

This is such an interesting image with the way you have processed it. I like the way your pixelated background colours is reflected in the silver eye's colouring.

I've never used pixelate, but it does look really great here.
