My Eye and Betty Martin by maggiemae

My Eye and Betty Martin

....whoever she was!
A new challenge - the eye! Sticking a camera against your eye, trying for focus while being half blind, doesn’t come easy. This one was Ok….. but - what are the fine red lines ( one is a heart which must mean something)? I can see letters in the iris. A ,“T’ and an “R’ hope the next one isn’t a ‘u’ then an ‘m’!
There is something called a ‘Lacrimal Caruncle’ which i didn’t show.

Three Good Things;
1. Managed to put the caravan cover on - involved a rake, filthy knees, and amazing skills!
2. My rat bait caught one! I did photograph it but then deleted the shot as it was so horrible!
3. The phrase appears to be a mystery!
A fabulous close up

@dawnee I got the description wrong when you first looked at it, Dawnee!
April 19th, 2017
Fabulous close up!! I love the details you've captured!
April 19th, 2017
so is this your eye? So much clarity and imagines in the eye to see , you even got a hint of eye lash.
April 19th, 2017
@lesip Yes - unfortunately they are not lush and black! Never have been!
April 19th, 2017
Fascinating
April 19th, 2017
Spooky, but I like it!
April 19th, 2017
Love this! I have always loved people's close ups of eyes which look so beautiful and have tried a few times and failed! That was other people's eyes - never thought to try to take my own! Lol! Fav! Lovely detail and reflections!
April 19th, 2017
This is wonderful! Oh my! "Look" at you! Smile.
April 19th, 2017
Bep
Fascinating!
April 19th, 2017
@louannwarren I wasn't smiling but it would have been interesting to see what changed in the eye when I did smile!
April 19th, 2017
Well done, amazingly sharp!
April 20th, 2017
Fascinating such an amazing capture
April 20th, 2017
Well done, I think I would have blinked at the wrong time if I'd tried this.
April 20th, 2017
Cool close up shot. Fav
April 20th, 2017
Spectacular close up image of your eye… And Betty Martin! I specially like the heart shaped blood vessel and the alphabet in your iris.
April 20th, 2017
Fantastic capture. Fav
April 20th, 2017
@grammyn I had to go to the bathroom mirror, Katy to see if I could see this and it was impossible to the naked eye - my eye was naked?
April 20th, 2017
@onewing Its easy not to blink if you concentrate Babs! I blink a lot normally!
April 20th, 2017
Super close up and details :)
April 20th, 2017
Amazing what you have captured....you will have us all photographing our eye now! Clever you..Fav
April 20th, 2017
@happysnaps You know - i think everyones eyes are always different. I wonder if the left eye is the same as the right? This one is my right eye.
April 20th, 2017
Fabulous details.
April 20th, 2017
Gosh, it sounds hurt and I can read the da vinci code from it.
April 20th, 2017
Wow, what a unique idea! How I know why those eye scanner ID things work so well. This gives a whole new meaning to catch light!
April 20th, 2017
@yaorenliu You are more clever than I - being connected to the Da Vinci Code has to be good!
April 20th, 2017
@stray_shooter Yes Ron and they are scanning both eyes which are different - I have discovered!
April 20th, 2017
This was a great shot before I read your narrative - now I am doubly impressed, sounds so difficult. Well done!!
April 20th, 2017
@fbailey I stood in front of a window to get the best light but still not fine definition!
April 20th, 2017
Grand shot...Fav
April 20th, 2017
Great close up.
April 20th, 2017
@ceilidh Thank you Margaret - are we all looking into the soul of me - that dark circle in the middle that goes right into my mind!
April 20th, 2017
@maggiemae I've just played at this using phone camera and have horrid blurry shots of eyelid - hats off to you!!!
April 20th, 2017
@fbailey I had the most terrible close-ups of my skin and my flappy eyelids. Just ignore them - crop them out quickly!
April 20th, 2017
@maggiemae LOL! Your eye was naked? My eye and Betty Martin!!!
April 20th, 2017
on the PP!!!
April 20th, 2017
super close up!
April 20th, 2017
It looks fascinating, but would it hurt your eye. I guess you've to make sure no flash is on.
April 20th, 2017
@bruni Goodness Bruni - the thought of a flash is horrifying! The camera is about 6 inches away, then I crop right down!
April 20th, 2017
I might try it.. wonder if one would see my cataract in one eye. not bad enough yet to get rid of it.
April 20th, 2017
@bruni Get the focus right and you will see stuff in your eye you have never known about, Bruni!
April 20th, 2017
A fascinating subject! Love the little fringe of eyelash against the sky. You have a really clear outline considering you had no idea whether younwerecin ficus or not! The caravan has been put to bed!
April 20th, 2017
How on earth did you do this? Amazing!
April 20th, 2017
I like the reflection in this one.
April 21st, 2017
Amazing. I don't understand how you got this but you did and it's fantastic!
April 21st, 2017
Yes, what Phyl said!
April 21st, 2017
@aikimomm @elatedpixie You just put the camera against the window (for good light) and stand in front of it - pretty near one eye. Then..... the most important part, when you have got a good focus, crop right down so that just the eye is displayed!
April 21st, 2017
@happypat Yes the cover is on but its got zips so that if we remember what we left in the caravan we can get at it!
April 21st, 2017
Wouldn't have thought that an eye would be so abstractly beautiful
April 21st, 2017
@mbrutus If you leave out the age of the skin and surrounds of the eye, it must be unique and will never change... a good reason to take the photo!
April 21st, 2017
Great macro, like the selfie too!
April 21st, 2017
Fabulous close up xx
